'People' Talks To WESH About Elin
Updated: 26 Aug 2010
WATCH: Part Two ORLANDO, Fla. -- People magazine's Steve Helling revealed exclusive details about the upcoming Elin Nordegren cover story to WESH 2's Aixa Diaz. Helling said Elin wanted the public to know that her children were her primary focus and they were what kept her strong through the past several months. "She's a real person, she has emotions and sometimes she let them come out," Heller said. "She's not the type to just sobbing and crying, but you really got a feeling that she's sympathetic and you felt for her." Helling said Elin was not paid for the interview and that the public can expect unseen photos and information in a 12-page spread that hits newsstands Friday. In the interview, published to People.com, Nordegren told the magazine that she's "been through hell." She said revelations of the sex scandal caused her to suffer through insomnia and weight loss, and days before the divorce was finalized, she even began to lose her hair. Nordegren also described first learning the news of her husband's affairs. "Absolute shock and disbelief. I felt stupid as more things were revealed. How could I not have known anything?" Nordegren said in the article. "The word betrayal isn't strong enough. I felt like my whole world had fallen apart." On what happened Thanksgiving night, when Woods crashed his sport utility vehicle just feet from the family's driveway, Nordegren said she was trying to get her husband out of the locked vehicle and insisted there was never any violence in their relationship. "The speculation that I would have used a golf club to hit him is just truly ridiculous." Nordegren said in the article.
